New Mom Expo
Today we set up a vendor table for the New Mom Expo at Great New Beginnings in Delaware. The event hosts went the extra mile to make this thing really special! There was a jumping house, balloons, snacks, crafts for the children, and some really amazing vendors. I lucked out to get in the same room with our friends from Diaper My Baby, Babywear With Joy, Happy Babies, and Holistic Mom's. A few dads came along and they were so helpful with the children while the mommies worked so hard at their vendor tables. :) *Thank you so much daddies!* I have to say, the children themselves were really helpful as well. Little girls could be seen buzzing all around the room helping their mamas set up and pack up. My little princess took the liberty to accessorize every other darling in the room a huge flower hair clip from our table. Hehe... they looked so precious! After making sure everyone was outfitted with a hair bow (which meant I only had three left on my table - LOL) she made sure everyone had a sample of our newest tea...whether they wanted one or not. :) I love how 4-year-olds advertise! She loved pouring little cups of our Mandarin Spice tea and serving everyone who walked in... at least once. :D My little guy was such a sweet baby today, even with all the commotion. He flashed his million dollar smile to anyone who would look at him. He must think he's part of the ad, and I guess he is. My pregnancy is what got me started on the herbal tea path about a year ago, but that's another story for another time. :) We did pretty well today with our teas and hair clips. I was able to give lots and lots of samples to some very beautiful mamas (and nanas)! As always, the princess tea was a hit. We got to donate a bag of our Mama-To-Be tea for the raffle, that's always lots of fun. Our Mandarin Spice tea was also very popular. Just before it was time to pack up and head home, I invited everyone to fill up their empty water bottles with what was left in our sample pitcher. Needless-to-say, my pitcher became much lighter and easier to transport home. :) Oh! I almost forgot! I got a chance to use my Square for the first time today! Twice actually! YAY! I felt really cool getting to take a card payment via iPhone. *Thank you Kristen and Nina for the iPhone and App hook-ups!* Just to throw in a side note, Nina was my inspiration for the Mandarin Spice tea. She asked for a postpartum/nursing tea. Mama-To-Be is great for postpartum, but not so much for nursing (unless used to relive over-production or to aid in weaning) due to the peppermint leaves. So I went into herbal problem solving mode and after many..many..many hours of research I came up with this blend. The orange flavor is mild, fruity, and *awesome* and herbs like nettle and alfalfa help in milk production. Red Rooibos is the base, which can help little colic tummies feel better, even through mama's milk. Then there's good ol' Red Raspberry to the rescue to help mama's tummy recover and get back in shape. Also it helps to level out hormonal levels which tend to get a little out of balance after birth. And let's not forget the vitamin c Rooibos sneaks in - that is important too! Ever heard of mastitis? Yeah, so extra vitamin c in mama's diet can keep infection out of the picture. :) Not to mention, the last thing you want is the sniffles when your new baby arrives! You've waited way to long to kiss those sweet little lips. All in all, we had lots of fun! So much fun in fact that we took a nap that ran right on into bed time! A big hug and thank you to Mrs. Jackie, her husband, and everyone who worked so hard to make this event happen!

Mom's Club Event
Today we set up shop at the Riverview Park. The weather was so beautiful and with such good company we had a great time. My husband's family drove down for a visit and got to enjoy shopping the vendor tables. All in all it was a wonderful day! I found a few people interested our tea, which is always encouraging. I'll have to look at the records again, but I think the Princess tea was the best seller today. There were several people who asked for it, even after I'd sold out! I think for the next event I may use the Princess tea as my sampler since it is such a lovely color and has a nice fruity flavor. I am expecting two shipments of herbs and oils this week as well as my business cards and banner *YAY*! I can't wait to get some new teas made and get our name out there! There are two local businesses (can't say who just yet) that are wanting to resell our tea, so I've got two special blends in mind just for them. This is so much fun! I'm thrilled that the Lord has given us such a wonderful opportunity! Everything has been just falling into place and I have such awesome friends to mentor me in the small business world. I've always wanted to do something as a home based business, but everything I've tried has fallen through, I pray this is our nitch! I have the supplies, the resources, and the market, all I have to do is the work. I pray our little business will bless others and give my little ones unique learning opportunities. Lord help me to be the wife and mother you have called me to be above anything else, great or small.
